27 August Ditty is growing well and is now 4 months and 26 days ( details from the family on ditty ) (update from mummy and daddy )

Ditty is doing really well and is growing up and looking longer in the body and is really great company. We have changed her diet and she is doing well with Lilly's Kitchen plus its great when she is bigger as there is a great variation of cans of different choice plus Royal Canin and Harrington's. Dry food. Although she does like lilies kitchen dry food also which has salmon in which is good for her coat.

We are still struggling with toilet training but she is growing to get better at that and we are noticing the signs. Normally she will get the nibbles and this will be our hands in a way of getting attention. The only way for her to tell us at the moment is to mouth . The action for sure which is a definite is she will start to circle the floor. We know then it's an immediate action for her to go to the garden . The one thing i have noticed with pugs is they have funny little traits 

Aphrodite hates to go in the garden if its wet and you almost have to go on the grass in order to let her know its ok to do so, The rain is a no she will not go in the garden in the rain . The dew as i said earlier when its wet she doesn't like. 

Aphrodite is very loyal and she sits with either one of us and has to have a whole of one side of her body touching or a paw touching one of us. It has been known that she will even put a paw or a foot and be in between us. Loyalty is her strong point. All the time she will follow us around and see what we are doing and she will wait by our bathroom if I go into the bathroom. 

Recently she has had a tick on her head but after an immediate response from our vets she was seen and it was removed. Aphrodite has been on long walks and loves to walk and even in the garden as we have a 100 ft garden that she plays in. I think the tick was from a walk she went on because it is more like countryside where we live. 

Short toy Recommendations 

Recently we have invested in some new toys by Kong and she has a Large Octopus like the one on the clear score advert. Plus she had a new toy yesterday which is a long soft beige and white plush fox. Its feature details are a stretchy sides that creates realistic movements It has internal knots which is supposed to help satisfy the needs of the dog. The head acts as the squeaky part which is great and fun for the Aphrodite . What is great about this toy is that it doesn't have stuffing its main interior is rope so if its broken at any point we won't have a room full of stuffing. I would say she has loved this animal since its arrival and she has dragged it everywhere. The Octopus is great this too has that enjoyable internal speaker and the tentacles make a crinkle sound . It is a very soft toy and if your pug is anything like ours they love that soft feeling. Its like a very soft Childs corduroy toy and a beautiful pink and purple . Aphrodite likes to put her head on the octopus and cuddle up . In this range of toys there is a fish, whale , and a great seahorse. Hopefully we will get her a few more of this range and they seem a comfort to her. A few toys we bought from wilkinson haven't been as good and seem to break easily where Aphrodite has managed to get hold of the stuffing. The only one that seems to have managed to stay in tact is the a white and cream bear in the photos on previous pages I have done. We call that one mocha as it reminds me of a mild coffee colour .  One we are awaiting in the post is a soft cuddly plush which is another Kong toy Called Barnyard chruncheez its great as it's an alternative to the squeaking toys on the market this toy ahas a crunch and rattle sound. We have found Aphrodite  loves to have plush toys and apparently her dad was very much like that and he loved that sensation of licking a plush. Another toy we have awaiting to arrive is a Kong bendeez

Giraffe which is great for your dog for playtime . Its described as flexible and fun to play with and ideal for solo play and helps with dogs teeth and helps in cleaning them. I will let you know an update on this toy when it arrives. 

I will let you know and get some photos of when she receives that. I need to update her page more as we have been so busy in our mayoral roles and so emerged with family life and our roles connected to our town that we have so much to think of. Through out the time with Aphrodite we have been fund raising also which has been hard work and time consuming . It will be nice at the end though to be able to see what is finally raised. 

We have tried a dry shampoo which smells beautiful and have used Johnson's baby shampoo as i read this is ok to use. We bought a better shampoo to try as she was getting a little smelly. We have a spritz spray also called Japenese spay that by a company called Nootie. The spray is great and you can spray quite liberally over the dog which is a cherry blossom fragrance. The new shampoo is called Dogs body and on the front of the black container it also displays the words animology. Its quite an impressive smell after Aphrodite has been washed and seems great for her coat.

Im hoping to buy her some little outfits like the pyjamas and a jumper type for when its colder. Another necessity is a new collar as we hadn't realised even though checking it size we could still get our fingers in the collar that it was a little small. That easily sorted out though i think and we will look to invest in a new one for her.
